There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing your family pictures. I can not tell you how many times a year my husband has to tell someone that their family pictures can not be retrieved from their computer. In the past year my husband has had a mom lose her babies pictures, and two customers who lost the pictures of a mom and sister in their final days of life.
Never store your precious pictures to the computer only. You can save your pictures on a backup disk or pin drive. There are several reasons why this can happen; corrosion, hard drive crashing and virus's. If your hard drive seems to be having problems try to back you files up immediately. It may help save some of your data. Save yourself a lot of heartache and always keep important files backed up.
